For years cosmetic physicians have been using cosmetic injections to successfully treat wrinkles and facial creases. At Capricorn Skin & Laser Centre, we offer cosmetic fillers and Botox® to help turn back the clock and provide a more supple, youthful appearance for our clients.

Botox® Cosmetic Injections

Botox is a cosmetic treatment that causes wrinkles to relax and soften. The procedure only takes a few minutes and no anaesthesia is required. The injection is injected with a fine needle into the specific muscles with minor discomfort.

How do cosmetic injections work?
A cosmetic injection blocks signals from the nerves to the muscle so the muscle can temporarily no longer contract. This causes the wrinkles to relax and soften. It is most often used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eyes) and frown lines.

How long do cosmetic injections last?
The treatment will last 3 months. As the muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and wrinkles need to be re-treated. Lines and wrinkles appear less severe over time as the muscles are being trained to relax.

How much does it cost?
The cost is based on the amount of units needed to achieve wrinkle smoothing which varies between clients. We charge $15.00 per unit. During your consult prior to booking our Cosmetic Coordinator will discuss pricing suited to your requirements. An average cost has been worked out below:
Forehead Lines: 10 units $150

Juvéderm Cosmetic Fillers

A cosmetic filler is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid - a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration.

Fillers are injected under the skin to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds. The process takes only about 30 minutes and results are immediate. There's minimal recovery or downtime.

How long do cosmetic fillers last?
One treatment can smooth your lines and wrinkles for up to 1 year. However, results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental touch up treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results.

What are the possible side effects of cosmetic fillers?
Side effects are usually mild lasting 7 days or less and include temporary injection site reactions like redness, pain, firmness and swelling. Cool compresses are ideal to apply after treatment to help soothe any swelling or tenderness.

How much does it cost?
The cost is based on the amount of filler needed to achieve the desired result which varies between clients. During your consult prior to booking our Cosmetic Coordinator will discuss pricing suited to your requirements.

For any further information please don't hesitate to contact us via the website or give us a call to book your complimentary, no obligation consultation with one of our Doctors or therapists.  They will discuss exactly what you are wanting to achieve and set a treatment plan in place to make sure your goals are reached.

Sculptra Aesthetic
Be subtle, be gradual, be renewed.

Age doesn't have to look the way it used to. It's more subtle. More gradual.
Shouldn't your anti-age be just as subtle?

Sculptra is not an overnight miracle. It is long lasting, not a quick-fix. Sculptra is the first facial injectable that gives you subtle results over time by replacing lost collagen and giving you a more natural-looking appearance, without giving you away. A full treatment of Sculptra Aesthetic, an average of three injection sessions over a few months, can last more than two years. So you have more time to see how sensational subtle can be. Discover anti-age for the modern age.

Sculptra Aesthetic is a new type of facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to replace lost collagen. It helps correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that appear with aging by replacing lost collagen. The main ingredient is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that has been used by physicians for decades.

Collagen is a key structural component that keeps skin youthful looking and smooth. As you age, your body's collagen production decreases, and you may begin to see wrinkles. Sculptra Aesthetic works to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds as it replaces lost collagen, which can help provide a refined, more youthful looking appearance.

How does it work?

Sculptra works to replace lost collagen in a series of treatments administered by a Sculptra trained Cosmetic Doctor. On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months. The number of injection sessions and the number of injections per session vary from person to person.

Sculptra Aesthetic works within the deep dermis, your skin's structure is reinforced as Sculptra Aesthetic helps to replace lost collagen. This reinforced collagen structure provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of fullness of your shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that has been depleted over time. The result? Sculptra is different because it gradually and subtly corrects these facial wrinkles. This can provide a refined, more youthful looking appearance that can last more than two years.

* Individual results and treatment sessions may vary. Clinical trial ended at 25 months. Safety and effectiveness of Sculptra Aesthetic have not been evaluated in areas other than nasolabial wrinkles and folds in clinical trials.

Frequently Asked Questions...

How much does Sculptra Aesthetic cost?
There are a few factors that figure into how much treatment with Sculptra Aesthetic will cost. Some of these include:
• How many treatment sessions are needed?
• How much Sculptra Aesthetic (number of vials) your physician uses per treatment
• The degree of correction you and your physician decide upon
• Discounts and special offers

Due to these factors and especially because Sculptra treatments are tailored to individual patients, cost will vary from person to person. The best way to determine your individual cost is by talking to your Doctor.

How does the price of Sculptra Aesthetic compare with other anti-aging treatments?
Comparing the cost of facial rejuvenation options to each other can be challenging because so much depends on desired results, the amount of product your Doctor recommends, your response to the treatment, the amount of time results last etc.

A treatment that lasts up to 3 to 6 months may cost less up front than one that lasts much longer, yet generally require additional treatment sessions to maintain the effect for the same duration. You may want to consider the total cost over time.

When comparing the price of Sculptra Aesthetic to other injectables, it can be helpful to weigh cost against treatment duration. Of course, the best way to determine how much a treatment option will cost is to talk to your Doctor and discuss your needs.

Is Sculptra Aesthetic safe?
Sculptra Aesthetic is FDA approved and has been used worldwide since 1999. Sculptra Aesthetic is made of a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid that is absorbed naturally and has been used for years in dissolvable sutures.
